Community Impact Project
As part of the degree, students will complete a final Community Impact Project in which they identify a need in their community, or other place of their choosing, related to the intersection of climate change and health. For example, a student might develop a plan for shade trees to reduce urban heat islands or a bike share to simultaneously reduce carbon emissions and promote exercise. Students will be mentored by faculty members as they research and propose their plan.

Program Requirements
The MS in Health, Wellness, & Climate Administration (HWCA) is a 34 credit program which can be completed online in as little as two years. Students will complete 15 credit hours of courses on environmental courses with special emphasis on climate change and 15 credits in a mix of health administration and business courses. The diverse coursework will lay a foundation for students to navigate institutional structures and think systemically. To graduate, students must complete a capstone community impact project which is an opportunity to conduct research, formulate a plan, and communicate with the public. Students will be mentored by faculty throughout this project during the 4 credits of project advisement.
Program Objectives
- Devise innovative solutions to human health and wellness challenges caused or exacerbated by climate change based on relevant credible research and data
- Design strategic plans and policies based on wellness-centered and conservation-focused methods and economic, legal, and social environments into public health policy and action.
- Implement original projects to address community-based needs
- Communicate effectively in speech and writing to diverse audiences
- Employ team-building and conflict-resolution leadership strategies to create a cohesive collaborative environment and accomplish tasks and goals

Prerequisite Courses
