Biography

Dr. Pliss has joined D’Youville University School of Pharmacy as an Assistant Professor in January 2024. Prior to that he worked as research faculty at the University at Buffalo.

Education & Training

  • B.S./M.S. in Cell Biology and Histology, Taras Shevchenko National University, Kyiv, Ukraine, 1993
  • Ph.D. in Cell Biology and Pathology; Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic, 2001

Research Interests

Dr. Pliss specializes broadly in cell and molecular biology, and advanced microscopy. His research is focused on the molecular environments in major cellular organelles and their transformations throughout cellular growth, disease progression or drug-cell interactions. Dr. Pliss also participates in the development of nanophotonics technologies for biomedical research.
