Biography

Dr. Nguyen joined the D'Youville School of Pharmacy in 2010 after completing a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Western University.  He is the recipient of a number of research awards and is a co-inventor of a patented research technology.  He has served as a peer-reviewer of research grants and scientific manuscripts and is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.  Dr. Nguyen enjoys outdoor activities with family and friends in his spare time

Education & Training

  • PhD, Molecular Pharmacology, Purdue University, 2006
  • BSc, Pharmacology & Toxicology, University of Western Ontario, 2001

Awards & Honors

  • Faculty inductee, Rho Chi Honor Society in Pharmacy, 2019
  • School of Pharmacy Distinguished Faculty of the Year, 2015

Research Interests

My research interests focus on a family of proteins known as the Regulator of G protein Signaling (RGS) proteins. The goal of this work is to better understand the molecular basis of human diseases with the hope of identifying novel therapeutic targets. My specific areas of interests include neuropsychiatric disorders and cardiovascular diseases.
