I am originally from Western New York and moved to the Chicago land area for about 25 years before returning. While there I adopted two children. As a single adoptive mother who have special needs, I have devolved my time and energy to them. I view my students as an active learners of their own experiences and attempt to bring my own experiences into the classroom. I always seem to learn from my students as much as they learn for me.

Research Interests
I am eclectic in my approach to research. I look at adoption and alternative ways families are made along with how they are perceived. Attachment theories has always been an interest of mine. How to provide therapy to children and adolescents is an important area of my research. Additionally, how to engage students into the learning process.
