Rand Bellavia

Biography

Before becoming the Director of the Library, Rand Bellavia was a faculty librarian at D'Youville.  For many years he taught Cataloging and Collection Development for the Masters of Library Science program at SUNY Buffalo, as well as Essentials of Poetry at D'Youville.  His first professional teaching experience was at the MonDay Community Correctional Facility, where he taught creative writing, and secured a grant from the state of Ohio to publish their writing as "Inside Lookin' Out," a reading book for adult learners.  Rand is also a Pegasus and Logan Award-winning musician known for his bands Ookla the Mok and Via Bella, as well as composing the theme song to Disney's 2002 animated series Fillmore! and contributing vocals to Gym Class Heroes' 2007 hit single "Cupid's Chokehold."
