Biography
A Buffalo, NY native, Dr McCrory-Churchill is a Certified Nurse Educator and Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, with 20 years of clinical experience. She began her nursing education at Erie Community College, obtaining her AAS in 2003. She immediately began her nursing career with Women’s and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, working in Hematology/Oncology and the Emergency room, where she remained until 2009. Her educational path continued to a BS/MS in Nursing/Maternal and Child Health, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, from the SUNY at Buffalo in 2006. In 2008, McCrory-Churchill began working as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, a role she found rewarding and continues on a per diem basis to maintain clinical skills and community networks. She became a Nationally Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care through PNCB in 2015.
Joining the Faculty at D’Youville University in 2007 as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Dr. McCrory-Churchill turned her focus to education completing a Doctor of Health Education degree from A.T. Still University in 2010. Further strengthening her focus, she obtained the National League for Nursing (NLN) Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential in 2020. As a first-generation college student, she understands well the challenges that students may face in navigating higher education and seeks to foster academic belonging. Her research pursuits have led to more than a dozen international presentations, and her international medical mission work has offered students and colleagues an opportunity to live the DYU mission.
