Biography
Thomas McCarthy is a dedicated professional with a multifaceted background in the fields of nutrition science, exercise science, psychology, and education. Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Thomas embarked on an impressive academic journey that laid the foundation for his career. Education: Thomas completed his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Literature at Canisius College in 1997. They continued their academic pursuit at the University at Buffalo, earning both a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a Master of Science in Nutrition Science in the years 2008-2012. Awards and Acknowledgments: Throughout his academic and professional journey, Thomas received numerous accolades, including the ESS Faculty of the Year award in 2015-2016 and 2020-2021. He was also honored with the Annette Rachman Scholarship in 2011 and 2012 for exceptional contributions to his field. Research and Teaching Experience: Thomas's passion for research is evident through his past involvement in various studies, including projects related to physical activity in children, stress reactivity, and more. His extensive teaching experience spans multiple institutions, where he has shared his knowledge and expertise with students in the fields of exercise and sports studies, strength training, and health care studies.
