Biography

My teaching interests include social, forensic, and clinical/counseling psychology. I have served as Psychology/Social Sciences Internship Coordinator since 2001. I am a licensed psychologist with interests in assessing and treating adjustment, anxiety, mood, substance use, sexual, and personality disorders. I have experience in individual, couples, and group therapy and using motivational interviewing. I'm an ardent advocate of holistic healthcare and a certified master trainer in TeamSTEPPS. In the community, I have coached miscellaneous youth sports across 4 decades and am the proud father of my sons, Josh and Jake, and grateful husband to my wife Lora.

Research Interests

My research interests include the areas of undergraduate internship experiences and student outcomes, substance use, reducing childhood obesity, the accuracy of self-predictions and depression, earwitness accuracy, the provision of culturally competent care, stress management, nd health psychology.
