D’Youville Hires Joggeshwar Das as Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Planning

Buffalo, New York – September 12, 2017 – Joggeshwar (Jogy) Das has been appointed to the position of Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Planning, bringing thirty years of experience in advancing institutions of higher education to the College.

Das most recently served as Associate Dean in the School of Education for the State University of New York at Oswego, helping the school achieve national recognition for teacher preparation programs improving upon college professional associations and national accreditation. At Oswego, Das made significant contributions to many aspects of college campus life including research, education, mentoring, advising, administration, and globalization, helping to lead through effective communication with faculty, staff, and administrators in order to create a culture of continuous improvement.

Prior to SUNY Oswego, Das spent 25 years at Ohio State University, serving in multiple positions including Assistant Director of Undergraduate Programs at the Fisher College of Business School, Director of Undergraduate and Graduate services, and Manager for Quality Data Reporting for the College of Education.

Having been published extensively, Das has made numerous presentations at national and international conferences, taught a variety of courses, and holds a deep interest and appreciation for supporting the success of students, especially international students studying in the United States.

Das has served as a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education’s Periodic Review Report (PRR) steering committee, ensuring institutions such as D’Youville demonstrate they meet standards of accreditation.

Das holds an ABD from Ohio State in Anthropology and has two master’s degrees, an MA in Anthropology from Ohio State University and an MSc from the University of Delhi along with a BSc in Anthropology from the University of Delhi.
