OT Students Reflect on Dominican Republic Trip

Two students in the occupational therapy program, Megan Schneider ‘19 and Kendyll Smith ‘19, traveled to the Dominican Republic this past spring. The duo visited the country as part of the Community Practice class offered each spring semester.

While abroad, Schneider and Smith assisted local residents in schools, nursing homes, and homes with basic therapy needs that aren’t readily available to everyone.

Watch the interview to hear how they helped a little girl with cerebral palsy write her name, changed the lives of a pair of women in their own home, and how the trip impacted their professional, personal, and spiritual lives.
