As part of our partnership with Say Yes to Education, D’Youville offers an unlimited number of full-tuition scholarships to students who meet Say Yes requirements.
Overview
As an institution dedicated to eliminating barriers to higher education for economically disadvantaged students, D'Youville is proud to provide unlimited scholarships to students who graduate from Say Yes eligible schools in Buffalo, Syracuse, and Cleveland, OH.
The Say Yes Tuition Scholarship provides:
- 8 semesters of financial support to meet the cost of tuition,
- Access to Say Yes Buffalo’s comprehensive support and services, including paid summer internships.

Check Eligibility
First-year students must meet all Say Yes eligibility requirements, as determined by their chapter. Transfer students will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. All students must meet the following financial guidelines for eligibility:
- In order to be considered for the Say Yes tuition scholarship, the annual family income cannot exceed $75,000. Family income is determined by the FAFSA and D’Youville’s financial aid office.
- If a student is Say Yes eligible but the family income exceeds $75,000 annually, they may be eligible for the Say Yes Choice Grant.
Apply
Students interested in applying for the Say Yes scholarship should complete the following steps:
- Apply to D’Youville (either via the the D’Youville application or The Common App).
- Complete the FAFSA
- Complete the NYS TAP application (if you are an resident of New York State)
- Complete the Say Yes application
- All of the above are due by March 1 in order to be considered for the Say Yes Tuition Scholarship at D'Youville.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I AM ELIGIBLE FOR THE SAY YES TUITION SCHOLARSHIP?
First, you need to verify your Say Yes eligibility by completing the Say Yes application online. Second, you need to apply and be admitted to D’Youville. And lastly, you need to complete a FAFSA and, if you are resident of the state of New York, the NYS TAP application.
HOW MANY SAY YES TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS ARE GRANTED TO D’YOUVILLE STUDENTS EACH YEAR?
D'Youville proudly offers an unlimited number of Say Yes scholarships to incoming eligible students.
DOES SAY YES PAY FOR BOOKS AND OTHER FEES?
No, Say Yes covers tuition expenses. However, students are encouraged to apply for outside scholarships utilizing ScholarshipUniverse in order to earn additional awards for these expenses.
WHAT COSTS DOES THE SAY YES TUITION SCHOLARSHIP COVER?
The Say Yes Tuition Scholarship ensures that your tuition costs are covered. It is a last dollar scholarship, meaning that it covers your tuition balance after other forms of federal (Pell), state (NYS TAP, if you live in NY), and other tuition-exclusive grants and scholarships are applied to your tuition costs
WHAT ARE THE ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO MAINTAIN MY SAY YES SCHOLARSHIP?
Students need to maintain a 2.0 GPA and earn a minimum of 12 credits per semester.
IS THERE AN INCOME REQUIREMENT IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR SAY YES?
Yes. There is a family income limit of $75,000 annually in order to qualify for the Say Yes Tuition Scholarship.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY FAMILY INCOME CHANGES AND IS NO LONGER BELOW THE $75,000/YEAR THRESHOLD? WILL I LOSE MY SAY YES TUITION SCHOLARSHIP?
Students in this situation will no longer be eligible for the Say Yes Tuition Scholarship, instead they may qualify for the Say Yes Choice Grant.
I RECEIVED THE CHOICE GRANT LAST YEAR BECAUSE OUR FAMILY INCOME WAS ABOVE $75,000. THIS YEAR OUR INCOME CHANGED AND IT IS NOW BELOW $75,000. DO I NOW QUALIFY FOR THE SAY YES TUITION SCHOLARSHIP?
Students in this situation will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
I RECEIVED SAY YES AT MY PREVIOUS COLLEGE. NOW THAT I AM TRANSFERRING TO D’YOUVILLE, WILL I STILL RECEIVE SAY YES?
Not necessarily. Say Yes offers unlimited scholarships each year to students who are new to D’Youville. Transfer students may be considered for this award, but it is not guaranteed.
I NEED AN EXTRA SEMESTER TO COMPLETE MY DEGREE. WILL SAY YES COVER MY TUITION DURING THE ADDITIONAL SEMESTER?
Your Say Yes Tuition Scholarship is good for 8 semesters of full-time undergraduate enrollment. If you need additional time to complete your degree, you may need to file an appeal with the financial aid office and/or Say Yes in order to be considered for additional semesters of funding.
I FILED AN APPEAL FOR SAY YES ELIGIBILITY THROUGH THE SAY YES OFFICE AND IT WAS GRANTED. DOES THIS AUTOMATICALLY MEAN THAT I WILL RECEIVE SAY YES AT D’YOUVILLE?
No. Filing an appeal with Say Yes means that you are eligible to be considered for Say Yes grants and scholarships. D’Youville makes the final determination regarding the granting of the Say Yes Tuition Scholarship at D’Youville.
I AM IN A DUAL DEGREE PROGRAM THAT COMBINES A BACHELOR’S DEGREE WITH A GRADUATE DEGREE. FOR HOW LONG CAN I RECEIVE SAY YES?
You will be eligible to receive Say Yes throughout the undergraduate portion of your program, not exceeding 8 semesters of eligibility.
HOW WILL I KNOW IF I AM SELECTED TO RECEIVE THE SAY YES TUITION SCHOLARSHIP?
You will receive notification from the admissions office in late April confirming your acceptance and outlining next steps.
CAN I RECEIVE BOTH SAY YES AND HEOP?
No, students who may qualify for both will be selected for one or the other.
