Dr. Jason MacLeod named Chief of Staff at D’Youville College

Buffalo, New York – November 8th, 2021 – D’Youville President Lorrie A. Clemo has named Dr. Jason MacLeod as her Chief of Staff, effective November 1, 2021.

“Jason will be responsible for overseeing the coordination of the President’s Office staff, communications, and Board of Trustees relations. As Chief of Staff, MacLeod will also be appointed as a member of the President’s Council and will maintain his managerial responsibilities over campus operations” said Clemo.

For the past three years, MacLeod has served as Associate Vice President for Operations and Administration at D’Youville, leading the vision of nearly $15 million of campus modernization efforts. MacLeod also serves as COVID Compliance Officer, a co-investigator of a $1.5 million Department of Education grant aimed at improving secondary teachers’ adoption of geospatial information systems (GIS) technology, and as an instructor in the Doctor of Educational Leadership program at D’Youville.

Prior to D’Youville, MacLeod spent three years living in Wuhan, China, where he completed his doctoral studies at Central China Normal University. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed book chapters and journal articles in the fields of learning environment design, educational technology, active learning, communication studies, and intercultural interaction. A native of Syracuse, New York, MacLeod completed his MBA in Business Administration and BS in Technology Management and Facilities Planning at the State University of New York at Oswego. 

D’Youville President Clemo praised MacLeod’s background as an energetic, well-rounded individual with understanding of a wide range of administrative operations, as well as being an accomplished researcher and teacher.

“As the dynamic context we are operating within continues to evolve and become more complex, we too need to adjust our structures and processes to keep pace. Over the past two years, MacLeod has played a pivotal role in the operational, regulatory, and communication-related facets of the COVID-19 pandemic. In managing these challenges, he became intricately interconnected with a wide cross-section of the institution as a matter of necessity to help navigate the crisis” said Clemo. “These experiences have prepared him well to succeed in this new leadership capacity.”
