DYC Board Member Named
Mercy Hospital President/CEO Named to D'Youville College Board of Trustees
Buffalo, New York – October 19, 2012 – D'Youville College has named Charles J. Urlaub to the Board of Trustees for a three-year term.
He is President and Chief Executive Officer of Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, part of the Catholic Health System, a position he has held since 2007.
Prior to his appointment, he was with the Catholic Healthcare Partners System headquartered in Cincinnati where he held a number of positions. These included Chief Administrative Officer at Mercy Hospital in Scranton and Interim President at S. Joseph's Hospital in Warren, Ohio.
From 1998 through 2003, Urlaub served at Kaleida Health in Buffalo as Vice President of Strategic Services, Planning and Quality and Vice President of Process Improvement.
He was Vice President of Quality and Assistant Vice President of Operations at Buffalo General Hospital from 1988 to 1998.
Urlaub is an adjunct professor in the School of Medicine and Biomedical Science at the University at Buffalo and serves as a thesis advisor and proctor in the Master's Program at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
He earned his Masters of Business Administration in Health Systems Management Engineering and his Bachelor's of Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.
He serves on the Board of Regents of the University of Scranton.
