D’Youville Names Four New Members to Board of Trustees
Buffalo, New York – May, 2021 – At their spring meeting on May 6, the D’Youville Board of Trustees approved the addition of four new members to serve three-year terms. They are Melissa Agnes, Ofo Ezeugwu, Joyce Markiewicz, and Bart McGloin.
Melissa Agnes is the founder and CEO of The Crisis Ready Institute, a public benefit corporation focused on crisis management and communication. A recognized leading authority on crisis preparedness, reputation management, and brand protection, Agnes is the creator of the Crisis ReadyTM Model and author of Crisis Ready: Building an Invincible Brand in an Uncertain World. As a strategic advisor and keynote speaker, she has worked with NATO, Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense, financial firms, technology companies, healthcare organizations, cities and municipalities, law enforcement agencies, global nonprofits, and many others, helping them understand risk and build invincible brands that can withstand even the most devastating of events.
Ofo Ezeugwu is the founder and CEO of WhoseYourLandLord, a website that provides landlord, property management, and apartment reviews for areas across the U.S. Recognized as a Rising Star by Techstar, Ezeugwu has been honored by NBCUniversal and New York On Tech as a Disruptive and Innovative Entrepreneur, as the Young Professional of the Year by the African American Chamber of Commerce, as a 30 Under 30 inductee by BET, and as a BE Modern Man by Black Enterprise. His work has been featured in Forbes, TechCrunch, Newsweek, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Blavity, and The New York Post, and he has spoken on tech, entrepreneurship, and leadership at the White House, Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Wharton, Temple, and Villanova.
Joyce Markiewicz is executive vice president and chief business development officer at Catholic Health. A 1980 graduate of the D’Youville School of Nursing, Markiewicz joined Catholic Health as vice president of operations for its home health care division. She was promoted to CEO of the division and also led the Catholic Health Skilled Nursing facilities, PACE program, women’s services, and the orthopedic service line. She has served as Catholic Health’s chief liaison for D’Youville’s Health Professions Hub, which includes the Sisters Health Center at D’Youville. Markiewicz has been named a Woman of Influence by Business First and recognized on their lists of Buffalo’s Most Powerful Women and Most Influential People in 2014 through 2021. She currently serves on the boards for Hospice Buffalo, Catholic Medical Partners, and Health Home Partners of Western New York.
Bart McGloin is partner-in-charge of the assurance services department at Dopkins & Company LLP. McGloin specializes in forensic accounting matters including fraud and embezzlement cases, litigation support services, and fraud prevention techniques, and he has substantial experience working with organizations on financial reporting, internal controls, and governance. He routinely provides forensic accounting services relating to embezzlement investigations for the healthcare, legal, and nonprofit industries and is a frequent lecturer on fraud and forensic topics to industry trade groups and educational forums. A 1987 D’Youville graduate with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, McGloin previously served as the chair of the St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute Board of Trustees.
