D’Youville Nursing Professor in Business First 40 Under 40 Class
Buffalo, New York – August 24, 2016 – Shannon McCrory-Churchill, DHEd, CPNP-PC, clinical associate professor in the D'Youville College School of Nursing, was selected by Buffalo Business First to be a member of the 25th Annual Business First 40 Under 40 class.
More than 140 nominations were received by the business journal this year and the class was selected by a six-person panel of former 40 Under 40 winners led by chairman James Morrell, deputy director of public transit at the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority.
“This year’s class is a reflection of the diversity and talent we see in the Buffalo-Niagara region,” said Jack Connors, Business First president and publisher.
Dr. McCrory-Churchill graduated from Erie County Community College and received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University at Buffalo. She earned her master’s degree from UB’s School of Nursing and her Doctorate of Health Education from A.T. Still University in Missouri.
She joined D’Youville in 2006 and is the pediatric nurse practitioner with a doctor in private practice in Lockport N.Y.
She also was the charge nurse at Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo in the pediatric hematology/oncology unit emergency room — where she supervised nursing staff on a 22-bed unit.
Dr. McCrory-Churchill is a member of various professional organizations including the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and was president of the Western New York chapter of NAPNAP in 2008-10.
A luncheon to celebrate the honorees is scheduled for November 17 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. Since 1992, 1,000 individuals have been named to the Business First 40 Under 40 program.
