Relive: Interprofessional Research Night
Relive: Interprofessional Research Night
On Thursday, May 2, D’Youville’s School of Health Professions held its Interprofessional Student Research Night.
The event allows students to display the evidence related to their research and requires them to articulate their research to a diverse audience of healthcare faculty, researchers, and other students. With poster presentations, the event promotes student, faculty, and guest interactions, all while exposing attendees to a wide variety of topics in a short period of time.
Theresa Vallone EdD, chair of the occupational therapy program, says that students “gain confidence in the research process and in their professional presentation.”
Students from the chiropractic, dietetics, exercise and sports science, health services administration, occupational therapy, physician assistant, and physical therapy programs were all represented.
Vallone, who served as chair of the event, goes on to say that one positive of making this an interprofessional event is that “the students who present also gain knowledge about research conducted within their own and other professions.”
