D’Youville Athletics Announces Spring 2025 “Battle of the Saints” Fundraising Campaign

D’Youville Athletics and D’Youville Annual Giving are excited to announce the launch of a month long “Battle of the Saints” fundraising campaign during April 2025 to support the university's 21 varsity teams and 315-plus student-athletes.

The “Battle of the Saints” campaign is a friendly competition and challenge among D’Youville coaches and student-athletes to generate team support from former D’Youville student-athletes, family members, and friends. It’s a great way for alumni, family, and friends to show support of D’Youville’s student-athletes and their commitment to excellence in their sport as well as focus and achievement in the classroom.

Funds raised during April’s “Battle of the Saints” will help all D’Youville Athletic teams and programs by supplementing three areas of importance:

1. Special spring and fall travel to tournaments and scrimmages
2. Additional team equipment for practice and performance
3. Resources to support the student athlete experience at D’Youville University

“The life of a student-athlete is highly demanding in their sport and in the classroom,” said Ona Halladay, Vice President for Athletics and Planning. “Every gift to support any of D’Youville’s 21 varsity teams during the “Battle of the Saints” campaign helps our students and coaches maintain their focus and commitment to excellence on the field, in the classroom, as well as in our community.”

Danielle Walenka, Director of Annual Giving, added, “Every contribution to your team of choice during the ‘Battle of the Saints’ campaign helps D’Youville and the Athletics department create an environment that encourages growth and opportunity for all of our Saints.”

Halladay also noted, “As a relatively new NCAA Division II program and member of the East Coast Conference, our goals and aspirations are ambitious, and we cannot achieve our potential without the engagement of our former student-athletes, parents, and friends. Their ongoing support helps ensure a life-changing experience for our student-athletes as they compete at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics, earn their degrees, and become leaders in this community and beyond.
